Back in blogland !

2016 has started and I'm back blogging again. Last year is history and I want to show you an old picture of my father in law. He died  just before Christmas 100 years old.
He gave us a lot of good memories and was interested in what every generation  did.
This is the oldest picture we have of him , sitting on a quilt. The colours of the quilt and who made it, we don't know,

This year I have promised myself to finish at least four  project  before I start a new one, and I have to do a lot of stash using. My cupboards seem to have shrinked, and I don't know why I always fall for those big quilts that takes ages to finish.

March is here!

It has been a busy winter without much quilting, but spring is always a better time for sewing for me.

I want to show you a few projects from this winter. Liberty pink is a small children quilt from my visit to London during my autumn holiday .I love these fabrics but I find them a bit thin for my normal quilting, but this time I made an exception.

This table runner is for springtime. Optimistic colours that longs for a big bouquet of tulips on the top.

This last quilt was made as an anniversary quilt for my husband. It’s made from a drawing inspired by a text from the Bible.  This drawing my oldest daughter got on a card 25 years ago, and this is the second and last quilt made of it.

Starting more than finishing

Suddenly October is more than half-finished and a lot of time has passed. I have been to a lot of quilting courses and started a lot of new projects. But last week I even finished two.

Winter Wonderland and the ABC quilt. The last a lot of my coworkers has appliquéd blocks for. I have finished and quilted it. It`s for the first born og\f one of our colleges. We have done this as a tradition, but now I told the others that this was my last on. <Next time someone else has to take the main responsibility. I think I have done 13 or 14.It has been fun, but that is enough. Next generation has to take over.

What else? I have tidied up my scrap box. Cut every fabric into 2, 5 inch squares, and the rest is thrown away that was too small. Now it’s ready for the machine on a rainy day.
